The first annual Moxie Awards were held in Chicago at the Park West Theater on June 21, 2012, and what an amazing turnout! The venue was packed with the movers and shakers in Chicago's digital tech and startup communities, and Mayor Rahm Emanuel kicked off the awards with a speech in which he said, “I want this to be the digital capital of the country." We wholeheartedly agree!

The Moxie Awards gathered Chicago's most innovative digital entrepreneurs for an evening of celebration. Outstanding individuals and companies were recognized, including Headline Awards for Best Corporate Digital Innovation, Best New Startup, Breakthrough Digital Company of the Year and CEO of the Year. A whopping 70,000 votes were cast!

WunderLand was one of 5 finalists for the Best Service Provider (recruiting/staffing) award, and when our name was called as the winner, Matt Hopkins, Brian Sauerland and Judi Wunderlich, the 3 original founders, reacted with shock and then pride as they went up to the podium to accept their award. It was a pleasant surprise that Saurin Choksi, a Ruby on Rails developer with Viewpoints, was the evening's emcee, because Saurin was the first full time placement made by WunderLand when we started 3 years ago!
