What’s wonderful about working for WunderLand?

Since we are still a young company, there is opportunity at every corner here at WunderLand (whether it be a new client or a challenging role to fill.) I also love our team – they are like family; we laugh, bicker, challenge one another and ultimately try to always support one another.

What do you enjoy about recruiting?

I genuinely love what I do – I feel so lucky. I enjoy learning about people’s goals and being a part of their path to make those goals happen. I’m emotionally invested in everyone I work with, which means I celebrate their successes and truly feel their disappointment when things don’t work out. There is also tremendous satisfaction when someone I feel is a perfect fit for a company/role gets the job – it’s validation that I “get it” and have a good sense of what a company is looking for.

What’s your take on the current creative, marketing and digital business landscape?

The market is much more “specialized” than it’s ever been before. Our clients are looking for subject-matter experts – being a “jack-of-all-trades” can be challenging. As the world goes digital, as do the needs of companies. Digital Marketing, Marketing Automation, Digital Analytics – these are very hot skills to have.

What about the creative, marketing and digital job market?

The job market is strong – but again, it’s specialized. I would definitely encourage candidates to dive deep into the digital space as much as possible. There will always be a need for traditional marketing & creative, but right now the majority of the roles we’re working on are digital.

What advice do you have for anyone who is looking for a new job?

Have a recruiter look at your resume – we are experts at what hiring managers are looking for. Make sure your online presence is optimized (i.e. make sure your LinkedIn is current and has important skills listed, etc.) Also, make sure your social media is free from polarizing content (or better yet, make it private.)  Go on every interview you get; interviewing is a skill, the more you do it, the better and more comfortable you feel. Have patience!

Why should a candidate want to work with WunderLand?

We are experts in our field. Personally, I’m almost at 10 years of marketing & creative recruiting in the area, so I have a strong understanding of the landscape. Our team has deep relationships with all different types of companies, so we can offer opportunities in a wide variety of industries. We are also just “regular folks”– meaning, we all have families and are genuinely caring and empathetic to our talent. There is no slime-factor here – our approach is honest and consultative. Plus we think we are funny, so be prepared.

Life is crazy.  What keeps you sane? How do you recharge?

Life IS crazy for sure! You would have to ask the team if they find me sane. Some days I feel like I am ruling the world, other days I wonder how it will all get done. Humor gets me through it… and wine… and snuggles with my two little boys at home. I try to do Bikram yoga once a week and then Cross-fit (where I’m the least in-shape person in the room, ha!)

If you had no fear & unlimited resources, what would you do with your life?

Well, my dream was to be a modern dancer… but I think things worked out the way they were supposed to. I have always said I would love to train guide dogs or therapy dogs. I also feel a strong calling to help wounded vets, so I would love to work with them. Then on a selfish note, I would travel the world with my family. Eating & drinking our way through the globe! I would also need to bring a personal trainer on this adventure, because my family loves to eat & drink ;)

Lastly, any quotes, mantras or inspiration for our readers?

The biggest piece of advice I can give – and that I try my best to live by – is follow your gut/go with your instinct. Even when a talent is turning down what I think is a fabulous offer from a client, if they are following their inner voice, I believe they are making the right decision.
